Recertificación

Recertifying as a Community Health Worker (CHW) is vital for building and maintaining trust within the communities they serve. By staying certified, CHWs demonstrate their commitment to high standards of care and staying current with the latest practices. This dedication strengthens their credibility with both community members and organizations, ensuring that trust remains at the heart of what makes CHWs essential.

Certification with the NCCHWA is active for 3 years. To renew your certification, a certain number of Contact Hours are required. A “Contact Hour” is equivalent to the actual time spent committed to an activity. For example, if you attend an Advocacy Coalition Meeting with NCCHWA for 1 hour, you will earn 1 contact hour.

Recertification requires a combination of Contact Hours
in each of these categories.
